Yoga Practices for Mindfulness and Restorative Practice
Yoga is not just a physical practice but also a mental and spiritual one. It can help cultivate mindfulness and restore balance to both the body and mind. Here are some yoga practices that focus on mindfulness and restoration:
Mindfulness Practice:
1. Body Scan: Start by lying down in Savasana (Corpse Pose). Close your eyes and bring your awareness to different parts of your body, starting from your toes up to your head. Notice any sensations without judgment.
2. Mindful Breathing: Sit comfortably and focus on your breath. Notice the inhales and exhales, the rise and fall of your belly. If your mind wanders, gently bring it back to your breath.
3. Walking Meditation: Take a slow, mindful walk focusing on each step you take. Notice the sensation of your feet touching the ground and the movement of your body.
Restorative Practice:
1. Supported Child's Pose: Place a bolster or pillow on your mat and kneel in front of it. Extend your arms forward and rest your forehead on the bolster. Stay here for a few minutes, focusing on deep, slow breaths.
2. Legs Up the Wall: Sit close to a wall and lie on your back, extending your legs up the wall. You can place a folded blanket under your lower back for support. Close your eyes and relax in this pose.
3. Supported Reclining Bound Angle Pose: Lie on your back with a bolster or pillows supporting your spine. Bring the soles of your feet together, letting your knees fall to the sides. Stay here and focus on relaxing your body.

Practicing these yoga poses can help you cultivate mindfulness and find restoration in your daily life. Remember to listen to your body and breathe deeply throughout the practice. Namaste!
